Ready to start your own Red Swing Project?

The following information is our suggestions for how to hang a red swing. Please follow the instructions in our how-to video below. *any individual who hangs a red swing accepts responsibility for the safety of that swing.

Here are some important things to remember:

1. whatever you hang a swing from should be VERY sturdy and parallel to the ground. (safety first)

2. choose wood that is thick (1.5 inch) and wide (2 feet) enough for a large adult. (dimensions as advised in the video)

3. use half inch diameter rope with minimal ’stretchiness.’

*After you have hung a swing, email us at redswingproject@gmail.com with the following information so that we can add it to our website.

1. Where it is hung – (intersection/address, city, state, country)

2. Pictures of the swing or a link to the pictures elsewhere.
