A few memorable comments:
“Seeing the silhouette of that swing in the darkness was one of the happiest moments of my life. I can’t quite explain why.” -Jenny, Houston, Texas, USA
“Saturday morning in City Park, I’ve chosen a spot under the oaks to remove myself from the daily submerged grind of the city. Stumbling across a destroyed public restroom in an overgrown and forgotten golf course, something catches my eye. It’s a swing! Positioned perfectly in the middle of an archway which leads to a pile of rubble, No. 18 surely must have been sent from above. I take out my Chinese dictionary and begin to re-learn the words and experiences of a life put on hold due to the destruction of this beloved place. The swing takes me far far away from New Orleans and back to memories shrouded in mist and dreams waiting to be re-discovered. Hours pass and I leave this swing, promising to return to this spot, how happy it has made me. Thank you.” -Jeff, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
“I live in East Austin and saw one of your red swings at Cafe’ Mundi today. What a delightful project! I often sneak in a swing at local playgrounds when I’m walking my dogs, if no one is there and watching ….. I’m 60, and it makes me feel like I’m 12 again. Keep up the wonderful random work…” -Linda, Austin, Texas, USA
